About Dan Siegel

Elected Commissioner in the 4th Ward in a special election on November 4, 2008, Dan Siegel has been a resident of Haverford Township since 1986, and a resident of the 4th Ward since 1988. Dan lives in Marilyn Park with his wife,  Eileen Watts Siegel, who is Chair of the English Department at Kohelet Yeshiva High School in Merion, and his two sons, Bradley and Douglas, who attend Drexel University and Franklin & Marshall College, respectively.

Dan received his bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College (with honors) in 1981, and his law degree from Temple University in 1984. He is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and his law office (the Law Offices of Daniel J. Siegel, LLC) is located at 66 West Eagle Road (across from Rita's Water Ice) in the heart of Havertown. Dan also operates Integrated Technology Services, LLC, a consulting firm that assists attorneys and small businesses with automation; the firm also provides web design and marketing services. 

Dan is a nationally known author and speaker on a wide range of topics who lectures frequently, particularly at continuing legal education courses. Dan has served in many positions in the legal community. He is the past Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Law Practice Management Division and was Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Section. Dan Siegel also writes, lectures and is a course planner (on a wide range of matters, from civil litigation to writing for attorneys to workers' compensation to ethics to personal injury matters) for many organizations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, and the American, Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Associations.

In addition to his work as Commissioner, Dan Siegel is actively involved in many community activities. He is legal counsel to and a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Ichtyhyosis and Related Skin Types, a national non-profit organization that works with individuals and families who suffer from this rare genetic skin disorder. He is past-president of Pennsylvanians Against Handgun Violence and a former member of the Board of Trustees of Handgun Control, Inc.
