Township Awarded $300,000 Grant to Defray Cost of Geothermal Installation at Haverford Reserve Recreation Center
Governor Ed Rendell has announced that Haverford Township has been awarded a $300,000 grant to defray the cost of installing geothermal energy at the Recreation Center to be built at the Haverford Reserve. Haverford Township was the only municipality in Delaware County to receive a grant. This grant will enable the Township to pay off its investment in approximately five years and save more than $2,000,000 in energy costs during the next 30 years. Plus, it will dramatically reduce the facility’s carbon footprint. Congratulations to all who worked to procure the grant. Click here to read the press release about the grant.
